Facts, perspectives and clear boundaries
How we present different national stories without obscuring facts, legitimising terrorism or assigning collective blame. This policy applies across the website.

Different perspectives do not make all claims equally true
People and nations may experience events differently and disagree about their meaning. That does not make every claim equally accurate. We distinguish sourced facts, attributed interpretations, personal and national memory, and the site’s values. We acknowledge uncertainty where evidence is insufficient; denial of a documented fact does not automatically merit equal weight.
Hamas and the 7 October attacks
Hamas is a terrorist organisation, also designated as such by the European Union.1 On 7 October 2023, Hamas led brutal terrorist attacks in Israel involving deliberate murder of civilians and hostage-taking.23 The site does not present these as legitimate protest or as justifiable national struggle.
Historical descriptions of the organisation’s activities, electoral participation, territorial control or indirect negotiations document reality without conferring legitimacy. Explaining the conflict’s background does not justify terrorism.
The Nakba: documented history and national memory
The Nakba includes Palestinian displacement, refugeehood and loss of homes and property during the 1948 war.4 These are not merely feelings. Disputes over circumstances, responsibility and meaning require sourced explanation. Recognising the Palestinian catastrophe does not deny Israel’s right to exist; recognising Israeli independence does not erase that catastrophe.
Responsibility for acts, not collective guilt
Hamas is not the Palestinian people. A government is not every citizen. Responsibility follows actions, decisions and orders, not ancestry or religion. The site recognises Israel’s right to independent, secure existence and Palestinians’ right to self-determination and an independent state. It condemns terrorism, antisemitism, racism and deliberate attacks on civilians wherever they occur.
The same standard of evidence in three languages
This policy covers articles, titles, summaries, maps, timelines, share cards and search results in Hebrew, Arabic and English. Facts do not change with the reader’s language. Source titles and attributed quotations retain their original wording; reproducing them is not endorsement. Describing an agreement does not endorse every provision.
The site advocates peace and life, and seeks accuracy even when facts are uncomfortable for its position. Automatic symmetry and the assumption that every dispute can be settled are no substitute for checking evidence.
